Eligibility

In the 2026 grants cycle, we will be accepting applications from professional and professional-core choruses only. Applicants must be a US-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization or Canadian registered charity. Fiscally sponsored projects are also eligible to apply; the fiscal sponsor must provide documentation of their 501(c)3 US tax-exempt status or qualification as a registered Canadian charity with the Canadian Revenue Agency.

This grant opportunity is open to Chorus America members. Additionally, it is only available to organizations who are not recent recipients of the Dale Warland Singers Commission Award. If your organization received this award in 2016-2024, you are ineligible to apply.

Eligibility rotates through a three-year cycle:
  • 2026: Professional and professional-core choruses: defined as fully professional choruses that pay 100% of their singers and/or choruses with a core of professional singers (25% of singers, or 12 singers, whichever is fewer)

  • 2027: Adult volunteer choruses

  • 2028: Children’s/youth choruses
