e-Chorus Management Institute: Fundraising

The new e-Chorus Management Institute (e-CMI) delivers the CMI’s wealth of information and hands-on approach in a convenient online format. This module examines the foundation of building a comprehensive fundraising program, including setting annual fundraising goals and creating an effective written fundraising plan. Participants will learn the importance of the individual donor in the fundraising process and tips for individual donor prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding.  

Schedule

All sessions take place on Wednesdays from 2:00-3:15pm Eastern Time. To get the most out of the interactive program, participants should plan to be present for all three sessions.

Corty

Corty Fengler's 33-year career in philanthropy has included work both as a development officer and as a consultant. She served as Canon for Development at Grace Cathedral in San Francisco and before that as Director of Development for the San Francisco Symphony and for the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center.

Corty's work with Wellesley College was during the largest campaign a liberal arts college had mounted at that time, and she was also Director of Development for Westover School. She was a Senior Associate with John Brown Limited, a leader in the fields of planned giving and capital campaigns. As an independent consultant she has provided comprehensive management consulting services to non-profits such as the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra and many choruses, orchestras and educational institutions. In addition to her current work as a board member of Chorus America, she has served on the boards the Association of California Symphony Orchestras and The Walden School, a summer music program in New Hampshire. She is presently Board Chair and CEO of Cappella SF, a two-year-old professional chamber choir in the Bay Area. She sings with the five-time Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Symphony Chorus.
