e-Chorus Management Institute: Marketing & Communications

The new e-Chorus Management Institute (e-CMI) delivers the CMI’s wealth of information and hands-on approach in a convenient online format. This module focuses on the fundamentals of marketing and communications. Three sessions cover topics including branding, online promotion, audience development, social media, and building a final marketing plan. Presenter Nancy Roberts, a member of our CMI faculty since 2002, has over 20 years of experience in marketing and communications for choruses and other arts groups.

Presenter

Nancy Roberts, a member of our CMI faculty since 2002, has over 20 years of experience in marketing and public relations, communications and project management for mission-driven organizations. She consults and presents frequently on sustainable communications strategy and social media for arts and “green” groups, including the San Francisco Opera, with which she has consulted on social media since 2010. She teaches marketing courses for the Green MBA at Dominican University of California and for the International Diploma Program of UC Berkeley Extension. Previously Nancy was Director of Marketing and PR for Chanticleer for five years. She was Director of Marketing for San Jose Symphony, COO for Opera World, and Information Service Director (in charge of research and publications) for OPERA America, the international service organization for professional opera. She is president of the board of directors of the vocal ensemble Clerestory. Nancy has an M.B.A. in Sustainable Enterprise (Green MBA), from Dominican University of California, and M.A. and B.A. degrees from George Washington University.
