An Update on Our Conducting Academy

Chorus America has decided to postpone this summer's Conducting Academy this summer to July 2021, as well as the Choral Education Workshop that was to take place simultaneously. While this was a hard decision, we know that it is the right choice for the health and safety of our participants and faculty.

We are already in discussion with our partners at Cal State Fullerton about dates in July 2021 and look forward to sharing more information this fall.

Conducting Academy Program

Chorus America’s Conducting Academy gives choral conductors a unique opportunity to develop choral-orchestral skills and enhance their university training.

During this week-long program, participating conductors will focus on Haydn's choral-orchestral masterwork The Creation. A chorus and professional orchestra will be in residence, and the Academy culminates with a performance in Meng Concert Hall. 

A world-class faculty offers podium coaching, video review sessions, individual instruction, and forums on topics such as performance practice, score preparation, and orchestral rehearsal procedures.
