Would You Give Less Without a Tax Deduction?

As we embark on the season of giving, Michelle Singletary, who writes the nationally syndicated Washingon Post column "The Color of Money," takes a look at the charitable tax deduction. Reducing or eliminating this deduction is one of the strategies proposed to deal with the US national debt. Singletary argues that although getting a tax break shouldn't be our sole motivation for giving, the deduction is "an economic benefit we can't afford to mess with." Read more here.
