The 2025 Choral-Orchestral Conducting Academy recently concluded its week-long intensive program from July 7th to 13th. This year's academy, held at California State University, Fullerton, brought together talented choral conductors for a unique opportunity to hone their skills in the combined choral and orchestral setting. Under the guidance of world-class faculty, participants dove into challenging repertoire, including Johannes Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem and Jennifer Higdon's evocative Ruminations. The week concluded with a final concert in Meng Concert Hall. We’re grateful to our program partners California State University, Fullerton and Pacific Chorale, and to new partners the Civic Orchestra of Los Angeles for serving as our orchestra throughout the week. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at all the great moments from the Conducting Academy, made special by the learning, collaboration, and artistry of this year’s participants.

Fellows and Scholars were able to work in-depth on these pieces and receive feedback and helpful tips from faculty members.
Fellows and Scholars had access to world-class faculty to help them on their journey. Faculty members worked one-on-one with participants and ensured they had the guidance they needed to reach the next level.
Fellows and Scholars truly bond during this experience. They support each other and work to build each other up.
Wishing you were able to catch the final performance? You still can! Head over to our YouTube channel to watch a recording of the full concert.
