Atlanta Young Singers

Atlanta Young Singers (AYS) is Atlanta’s premier choir for youth. With the cooperation of dedicated community leaders, schoolteachers, and arts professionals, Stephen J. Ortlip (Music Director for 23 years) founded AYS when the idea of boys and girls singing together in a community choir was rare in the U.S. Celebrating its 48th anniversary, AYS is now bringing music to life for youth in metro Atlanta and audiences all over the world. In addition to an intensive, auditioned choral program, free workshops, master classes, and lecture demonstrations with skilled instructors and guest artists are offered annually to area students and music educators. 9,000+ people each year and 2,800+ Alumni and their families have benefitted directly from AYS programs; over 90,000 people heard AYS Choirs in 2019 around the world.
