Non-Traditional Models in the Choral Field

Location
Franklin Room, 3rd Floor
Session Type
Special Event/Performance
Session Subtype
Breakout Session

The majority of independent choruses follow a similar structure: people come together to sing, recruited by audition and led by a conductor, then perform in traditional settings like churches or theatres. However, there are other models coming to light that make use of different performance and rehearsal venues, varying recruitment models, and conductor-less ways of making music. In this session, you will learn how non-traditional models are working for different ensembles across the country.
