Victoria Nieto

Victoria Nieto is a Venezuelan choral conductor and educator with over a decade of experience working with children, youth, and mixed ensembles. She is deeply committed to using music as a vehicle for social connection, cultural exchange, and artistic excellence.

Victoria currently serves as a conductor with Cantabile Youth Singers of Silicon Valley, where she works with elementary and middle school ensembles in a program dedicated to nurturing young voices through high-level choral training. She also directs the middle school choir at Bullis Charter School, bringing her passion for music education to the classroom with a focus on vocal development, cultural awareness, and ensemble collaboration.

Throughout her career, Victoria has performed both as a conductor and ensemble singer across the United States, Europe, and Asia. She previously served as Director of Choral Activities at Hamilton College, where she led the Hamilton College Choir and Hamilton Voices, coordinated interdisciplinary collaborations, and organized regional tours and public performances.

Her international teaching experience includes serving as an instructor for Música para Crecer, a program that uses music to empower children from under-resourced communities in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. A strong advocate for Latin American choral repertoire, Victoria has presented on this subject at the Missouri Choral Directors Association Conference and as a guest speaker at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, invited by the ACDA Student Chapter.

Victoria holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the University of Miami, where her dissertation focused on Misa Criolla Venezolana by Albert Hernández; a Master of Music from Missouri State University; and a Bachelor of Music from UNEARTE in Caracas, Venezuela. Her work continues to center on creating inclusive musical spaces, commissioning new works by Latin American composers, and mentoring the next generation of choral leaders
