This past February 25-27th, True Concord Voices & Orchestra performed the world premiere of Earth Symphony (“Choral”), a commissioned piece by composer Jake Runestad and librettist Todd Boss, alongside Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

During the week leading up to the performances, True Concord hosted Runestad and Boss as artists in residence. During their time in Tucson, Runestad and Boss visited sites throughout Tucson that work towards sustainability and participated in a panel discussion on the intersection of arts and climate science with faculty at the University of Arizona.

Earth Symphony (“Choral”), a five-movement piece for chorus and orchestra, narrates a sweeping and compelling monologue of Mother Earth telling the time-telescoped history of her children, humankind. This moving work received a standing ovation at all three performances, and True Concord is thrilled to have been the beginning of Earth Symphony's impact on our world!
