New Show Choir for Women in Houston

Houston Choral Showcase (HCS) is a show choir made up of talented adult singers. What sets this group apart from other choirs is their creative repertoire of pop, rock, disco, jazz, show tunes, patriotic pieces, and more, accompanied by lively choreography. The ensemble has sung at public and private events all over the Greater Houston area (and occasionally beyond) since 1932, bringing distinctive performances that are filled with dynamic energy and great singing.

With a singer roster bursting at the seams, the choir is branching out to offer two performance groups, both directed by Jen Young. One ensemble will be a continuation of the mixed show choir that is already in place, and the other will be a high-energy singing and dancing group for women. Ms. Young says, “Houston is brimming with amazing vocal talent. Because HCS is the only adult show choir in Houston, our auditions attract excellent performers whom we hate to turn away. By offering two ensembles within our show choir organization, we plan to enhance the opportunities for talented singers to perform and also to increase options for event planners looking to book quality musical entertainment.”
