mirabai presents Virtual Leadership Retreat in January 2021

mirabai, a professional women’s chamber ensemble, is excited to announce the 2021 mirabai Virtual Leadership Retreat on January 8-10, 2021, led by mirabai Artistic Director Sandra Snow and featuring select mirabai artists.

This experience will bring together singers, composers, conductors, and educators in a three-day virtual retreat to refresh, connect, and energize. Session topics will include reality, reflection, and resilience with Dr. Andrea Ramsey, holistic creativity with Dr. Elizabeth Hogan, and meaningful community building in the virtual/hybrid setting with Dr. Jennifer Sengin, as well as an interactive panel discussion regarding gender, race, allyship, and intersectionality in the choral setting. The retreat will also feature a keynote address by Dr. Sandra Snow. There is a $49 suggested donation to help mirabai continue its mission to amplify women’s voices through education, performance, commissioning, and recording. Proceeds will go toward our next commission and recording project “Home in Me” by Dr. Andrea Clearfield.

mirabai artist and Retreat Coordinator Dr. Alyssa Cossey says, “mirabai is not your average choir, and this is not your average conference. This three-day virtual leadership conference includes innovative and inspiring content as well as opportunities for attendees to connect with other leaders in the field, network, share ideas, and discuss important issues related to our profession. Mornings will begin with meditation and massage, and each day will end with a cocktail tutorial and ‘Happy Hour’ activities.
