Grant Applications Now Being Accepted by Ann Stookey Fund for New Music

The Ann Stookey Fund for New Music (www.annstookeyfund.org) is pleased to announce its first-ever grant cycle to support commissions for new choral music.

The Fund was established earlier this year in celebration of the life of Ann Stookey, an avid choral singer and strong supporter of new music, who passed away in 2012.

The Fund will support two or more commissions in each funding cycle, with grants totaling up to $35,000 each year.

The Fund accepts applications for support of both sacred and secular new music from a wide range of choral organizations based in the U.S.

“There were few things that gave Ann more pleasure and satisfaction than participating in the creation of choral music, especially new music,” said Joe Waz, chair of the Fund, and Ann’s husband. “Through the Fund, we hope to create a living legacy to Ann’s love of new choral music that will help sustain and expand this vital art form.”

Applications for this grant cycle must be completed by November 1, 2013. Grants will be announced on Ann’s birthday, February 2, 2014.
