Composition masterclass with Novi Cantori

The professional chamber choir Novi Cantori is delighted to host a composition masterclass on Sat., March 28, from 10 am-noon at the Second Congregational Church in Westfield, MA.

The choir will read through works-in-progress from four composers - two advanced undergraduates and two professional composers - offering feedback on their music. All four composers were selected from a competitive pool of applicants, and will be in attendance.

"This masterclass comes largely from the success of our Call for Scores last season," says Artistic Director Ellen Gilson Voth. "The opportunity to have composers and singers present together and share input on a piece-in-progress is rare and incredibly beneficial. Novi Cantori is committed to not only the finest repertoire of our choral tradition across the centuries, but also advocating for ways that rich tradition will continue into the future. We believe this event contributes to that in a vital and timely way."
