The piece was commissioned by New-York based Choral Chameleon in 2009, during Jeffrey Parola's tenure as inaugural composer-in-residence and has become a favorite amongst our repertoire. The music is a setting of Robert Frost's poem Stars.
The video's emphatic simplicity and the presentation of singers as individuals echoes the connected/disconnected and secular/spiritual tensions within the poem.
Conceived by Artistic Director Vince Peterson. Recorded and Filmed at St Paul's Episcopal Church in Brooklyn, New York.
