Buffalo Choral Arts Society Celebrates 50th Anniversary Season by Welcoming Dr. Z. Randall Stroope to the Podium in June 2016

Buffalo Choral Arts Society, under the direction of Marcia A. Giambrone, is celebrating its 50th season in style.  On October 24, 2015, members kicked off the milestone season with an inspired concert performance at the Fall Conference of the New York Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.  This 110-voice community chorus was invited to perform as the community chorus representatives for New York State.  It was an absolute thrill to perform on the stage in Kilbourne Hall, one of the fine performance halls in the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY.

In juxtaposition, Ms. Giambrone and the working board of this chorus are planning on a grand 50th season finale, as they welcome internationally-renowned composer and conductor Dr. Z. Randall Stroope to Buffalo in June 2016.  Dr. Stroope will ascend the conductor's podium and lead the chorus through a program that he crafted especially for this very special 50th anniversary concert.  The concert finale will be the inaugural performance of a choral work that Buffalo Choral Arts Society commissioned Dr. Stroope to compose in honor of their 50th season.  The chorus is beyond thrilled to sing for Dr. Stroope, and preparations of all kinds - vocal and otherwise - are well underway.
