Music + Youth: A Session with Melanie DeMore

Vocal coach and teacher Melanie DeMore has developed a host of engaging strategies and techniques from years of experience working with students of all ages in Oakland, CA, and beyond.  In this session, she will share her insights on writing music for young singers, as well as giving attendees a sample of what she delivers through her "Sound Awareness" course, which helps young people consider the cultural, political, and emotional effects of the media in their lives, including the impact of television shows such as American Idol and The Voice.
