The work of creating and sustaining multicultural arts organizations has specific challenges and rewards. Twenty-five years ago, Diana V. Sáez founded Cantigas, a chamber choir in the Washington DC area dedicated to the performance of choral music from Spain and Latin America—in June 2016, Cantigas will give the final concert of its farewell season. Drawing from her experience leading Cantigas, Sáez will explore the challenges she has encountered and lessons learned about fundraising, board development, and artistic programming that are unique to an organization like Cantigas.
