The Mobile Chorus: Engaging Audiences on the Go

Location
Franklin Room, 3rd Floor
Session Type
Special Event/Performance
Session Subtype
Breakout Session

Has your chorus gone mobile? Americans spend an average of 128 minutes per day using mobile apps compared to an average of 70 minutes per day using web browsers. Nearly 40% of all Internet traffic comes from mobile devices. Yet according to a 2013 survey from Musical America, less than 10% of performing arts organizations have a strategy for mobile marketing. Most of us believe that we don’t have the money to engage with mobile audiences. Not true! Your chorus can engage mobile audiences even if you have NO budget. This session will explore a variety of options for connecting with audiences via mobile devices – from QR codes to mobile apps and everything in-between. For each option, we will highlight useful features, identify best practices, discuss costs, and determine the time involved for implementation and maintenance.
