Location
Commonwealth B & C
Session Type
Special Event/Performance
Session Subtype
In-Depth Seminar

“How many string players do I need for this concert?” “Is a divided gesture really necessary here?” If you’ve ever asked yourself similar questions, this workshop is for you. Designed for conductors and anyone involved in artistic planning, Ann Howard Jones and Scott Allen Jarrett will address and demonstrate the crucial decisions, both musical and practical, that will ensure success on and off the podium. Singers and instrumentalists from Boston University will provide examples from the standard choral-orchestral repertoire. Registrants will be notified in advance of the repertoire list and are encouraged to come with baton, score, and questions.
