Matthew Chi Lee

Matthew Chi Lee is in his 7th year as the Director of Choirs at John P. Stevens (JPS) High School in Edison, New Jersey, where he conducts 5 co-curricular ensembles. Choirs under Lee's direction have consistently received Superior or Gold ratings at local, state, national, and international festivals. In 2017, the JPS High School Chamber Choir was named Grand Prize and the Morten Lauridsen Award at the Interkultur Sing ‘N’ Joy Princeton International. Under his direction, choirs at JPS have performed at the 2017 NAfME All-Eastern Division Conference, the 2022 American Choral Directors Association Eastern Regional Conference, as well as the 2023 ACDA National Conference in Cincinnati, OH. 

Matthew Chi Lee also serves as the assistant conductor at Christ Church in Summit, NJ and performs with the Harmonium Choral Society, in Morristown, New Jersey. He has performed with the Westminster Choir College Summer Festival Choir and made his France conducting debut as a Conducting Scholar with the University of Delaware Choral Symposium in 2019. He was also named the recipient of the ACDA Allan C. Lannom Study Award. Lee holds a degree in Music Education from Northwestern University and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Music Education (Summer MME) at Florida State University.
