Brandon Elliott

Dr. Brandon Elliott enjoys an expansive career as a conductor-educator, arts leader, and consultant. He is the founding Artistic & Executive Director of Choral Arts Initiative, a professional chorus nationally recognized as a champion of new music, having premiered 95 works and 18 commissions. The ensemble’s most recent album, From Wilderness: A Meditation on the Pacific Crest Trail, debuted at #3 on the Billboard charts and #1 on the Amazon Best Seller list. He has received the ASCAP/Chorus America Award for Adventurous Programming and the Louis Botto Award for Innovative Action and Entrepreneurial Zeal.

Brandon is also the Director of Choral & Vocal Activities at Moorpark College. He conducts three ensembles and oversees program area courses. In the Commercial Music program, he teaches Introduction to Music Business, and will be launching a new course called Networking & Negotiations in Fall 2023. His commitment to music education was recognized by the Recording Academy as a 2022 GRAMMY Music Educator Award semifinalist.

Brandon consults various live and themed entertainment entities. He is well-versed in navigating the mainstream music industry, from managing pop artists to serving as a negotiation advisor for major record label deals and catalog acquisitions. He works with themed entertainment entities to navigate the intersection of music usage, ADEI initiatives, talent recruitment, and fiscal optimization.

Passionate about giving back to the community, Brandon volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Ventura County, and serves as an Arts Commissioner for the City of Moorpark.
