Pamela Shortall

Joining Chicago Children’s Choir in 2010, Pamela now serves as the associate director of school and community partnerships where she cultivates relationships with Chicago schools, community organizations, families, and public representatives to ensure successful school and neighborhood choir programs. Additionally, she oversees student evaluation for all 4,800 members of Chicago Children’s Choir. Pamela shares the organization’s passion for musical excellence and creating bridges across Chicago’s communities.

As a member of the Chicago arts education community, Pamela is a member of the Chicago Consortium of Community Music Schools. She has also served on the partnerships and professional learning collective impact panel for Ingenuity, an organization committed to increasing arts education access, equity, and quality in Chicago Public Schools. In 2016, Pamela attended the Community Arts Education Leadership Institute, a program sponsored by the National Guild for Community Arts Education that works with current and emerging arts education leaders.

Before moving to Chicago, Pamela taught middle school general music and choir in Maryland and acted as music director and stage manager for many school and community theatre productions. Since 2012, she has served as a section leader for the music program at the First United Methodist Church of Glen Ellyn.

Pamela holds a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Delaware and a masters in arts management from Columbia College Chicago.
