Greg Funfgeld

Greg Funfgeld, now in his 35th season, is the first full-time artistic director and conductor of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and. He has expanded the Bach Choir's programs to a year-round season of more than 32 concerts and educational programs with an audience of more than 22,000. He has directed Bach Choir concerts in the Thomaskirche, Leipzig; the Royal Albert Hall, London at the BBC Proms; the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; Carnegie Hall; Strathmore; and Trinity Church Wall Street for the 10th anniversary commemoration of 9/11. Commissioned composers include Libby Larsen, Stephen Paulus, Larry Lipkis, and Charles Holdeman. Recordings include nine on the Dorian and Analekta labels and two PBS films. Funfgeld is a Westminster Choir College graduate, holds a Lehigh University honorary doctorate, and is on The American Bach Society advisory board. Until August 2016, he served as director of music at First Presbyterian Church Bethlehem.
