Julia Cole

As Director of Institutional Giving at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association, Julia works to secure foundation, corporate foundation, and government funds. Under Julia’s leadership, the LA Phil has enjoyed a 190% increase in funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies over a 14-year period. Julia also oversees stewardship for the LA Phil. Before joining the LA Phil in 2003 as a Grant Writer, Julia worked as a consultant for David Bury & Associates in New York City, advancing the development efforts of small and mid-sized arts organizations such as American Composers Forum, Bill T. Jones Dance Company, the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and Meet The Composer. Julia began her fundraising career at Poets & Writers, a literary national service organization.  She has a BA in English and Women’s Studies from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Sarah Lawrence College.  She has sung in choirs and has also studied oboe and piano.
