Anne Keiser is a board member of Chorus America, and has been a member of the board of The Choral Arts Society of Washington since 1988, twice serving as board chair. She has sung in Choral Arts since 1975, and for twenty-seven years was a member of the Senior Choir at St. Alban’s Church under the direction of Norman Scribner, the founder and artistic director of The Choral Arts Society of Washington for 47 years. She received her BA in music from Middlebury College in Vermont.
In 2010, Anne chaired the search committee as Choral Arts embarked on a two-year search process identifying its second artistic director. Choral Arts engaged Scott Tucker, who relocated to Washington after serving for 17 years as the PE Browning Endowed Professor of Choral Music at Cornell University, an institution with a rich tradition of choral music. Last year Anne was a member of the search committee for a new executive director for Choral Arts.
In addition to Chorus America and Choral Arts, Anne serves on boards that relate to her interests in life, including The Greater Himalayas Foundation, The Middle East Institute, The Smithsonian Women’s Committee, the National Council of the World Wildlife Fund US, and The Washington Tennis & Education Foundation. She resides in Washington DC with her husband Doug Lapp, also a singer.
