Alice McAllister Tillman

Alice McAllister Tillman is a versatile artist whose experiences have taken her to concert halls and recital stages throughout North America. Her voice has been described as “exquisite, soaring, brilliant and beautiful!” She is known for her ability to perform a diverse range of literature spanning many genres. 

Ms. Tillman attended the University of Michigan School of Music where she studied Voice Performance with Dr. Willis C. Patterson and earned a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Voice Performance. She also completed course work leading to the State of Michigan Teacher Certification. 

While maintaining a highly visible performance career, Ms. Tillman has been a vocal music educator at every level including kindergarten through post-graduate studies. Ms. Tillman’s ensembles have consistently earned excellent ratings, and her students are frequently accepted into some of Michigan’s most prestigious ensembles including the Michigan School Vocal Music Association State Honors Choirs. Many have been accepted into some of the nation’s top institutions of Music.

Alice McAllister Tillman is a long-standing member of The Brazeal Dennard Chorale, dating back to side-by-side concert performances with the Chorale as a student in Brazeal Dennard’s ensembles at Northwestern High School in Detroit, MI. She accepted the role of Artistic Director of The Brazeal Dennard Chorale in 2015.
