Molly Buzick Pontin

Molly Buzick Pontin is the director of education and community programs for Pacific Chorale. She has a bachelor’s of arts degree in piano performance from the University of Denver, a master’s of music degree in choral conducting from Pennsylvania State University, and a doctorate of musical arts in orchestral conducting from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her conducting posts have included musicians of all ages and skill levels, including the Colorado Children’s Chorale, Santa Barbara Youth Symphony, and Santa Barbara City College.

As an administrator, she has advocated for musical access for learners of all ages, reaching thousands of students through programs with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra, Santa Barbara Symphony, Pacific Symphony, and Pacific Chorale. She developed Pacific Symphony’s highly popular “OC Can You Play?” initiative for adult amateur musicians, and recently led the successful launch of Pacific Chorale’s new after-school elementary program, “Pacific Chorale Academy.”
