Aisha Bowden

Aisha is co-director of the Atlanta Music Project. She holds a BME from Howard University and a post-graduate certificate from the New England Conservatory Sistema Fellows Program, a prestigious, post-graduate fellowship of that trains gifted musicians and educators to create El Sistema-inspired programs in the United States.

Aisha served as an award-winning public school music educator, conductor, and accompanist for over a decade in Washington DC and Cobb County, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. She joined the Atlanta Music Project as a choral teaching artist during its pilot year. That experience influenced her decision to study El-Sistema and subsequently create the first Sistema-inspired choral program in Georgia.

Since joining the leadership team of the Atlanta Music Project, Aisha has served as acting executive director of the organization, as well as her current position as co-founder and director of AMPlify, the choral program of the Atlanta Music Project.
