Paul Reisler

Paul Reisler has been writing songs, performing, composing, recording, and teaching songwriting for more than 35 years as the leader of Trapezoid, the founder of Kid Pan Alley, and the leader of his new group, Paul Reisler & A Thousand Questions.

His discovery that kids make the best song co-writers led to the founding of the Kid Pan Alley Children’s Songwriting Project. To date, he’s helped over 35,000 children write close to 2,500 songs nationally and has released three CDs featuring artists including Amy Grant, Sissy Spacek, Delbert McClinton, Cracker, Kix Brooks, Nashville Chamber Orchestra, Corey Harris, and many others recording the songs he wrote with the children. The albums have won numerous awards including Parents Choice and NAPPA Gold Awards, a WAMMIE, and a Grammy nomination.

His full-length work for orchestra and narrator based on Aesop’s Fables premiered in 2010 at the Charlottesville Performing Arts Center and at Lorin Maazel’s Castleton Theatre House. He’s currently completing work on a musical in which he wrote the songs and the script. Paul teaches songwriting to adults at workshops and songwriting schools throughout the country.
