Danny Ozment

Danny Ozment grew up in Richmond, Virginia and studied voice and percussion at James Madison University where he founded the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award (CARA) winning a cappella group Exit 245. He received a master’s degree in choral conducting from JMU and settled in Washington DC where he conducted choirs at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts for the Master Chorale of Washington and continues to prepare choirs for the National Symphony Orchestra. In 2009, Danny started Emerald City Productions, a recording studio based in Springfield, Virginia offering recording, editing, mixing, and coaching services. He has received over 50 CARA nominations in the professional and scholastic categories, and his work has appeared on the SING, BOCA, BOHSA, Voices Only, Voices Only Forte, and Voice Collection compilations in the last year. Some recent clients include The King's Singers, Capital Hearings, and The Songmen. A member of the Contemporary A Cappella Society Board of Directors since 2011, he initially served as director of education and is now director of outreach, responsible for building collaborative partnerships with other a cappella, vocal, and choral organizations around the world.
