Cameron F. LaBarr

A native of Richmond, Missouri, Cameron F. LaBarr is the founding artistic director and conductor of the Tennessee Chamber Chorus, a professional choir based in east Tennessee. He has recently been appointed as director of choral studies at Missouri State University. Formerly, he held choral positions at the University of North Texas and Lee University. He holds a bachelors of music from Missouri State University and a masters of music and a doctor of musical arts from the University of North Texas. In April 2014, LaBarr was a fellow at the Salzburg Global Seminar on Peace-Building and the Arts. He will guest conduct in China in July 2014 as part of the International Conductors Exchange Program sponsored by the American Choral Directors Association and the China Chorus Association. LaBarr has worked nationally and internationally as guest conductor and clinician, recently in Alaska, California, Iowa, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, and South Africa. LaBarr has published articles and reviews in the Choral Journal and The Chorister and edits a choral series with Santa Barbara Music Publishing.
