Kathy Hsieh

Kathy Hsieh has over 28 years of experience administering arts and cultural projects and has worked for the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs since 2003. She is currently their cultural partnerships and grants manager. Kathy has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Washington’s School of Drama, worked as staff for several non-profit theatre companies, and has a long volunteer history in theatre and doing community development work in the Asian American community. In 2003, she was honored by ArtsFund as one of Seattle’s regional actors and was selected as Artist of the Year by the National Association of Asian American Professionals - Seattle. An award-winning director and playwright, in 2007 she was featured in The Dramatist magazine as one of “50 to Watch.” In 2012 she received the Verizon’s Asian Pacific American Bash’s Innovator Award and a special award of recognition from The Seattle Theater Writers Gypsy Awards for Excellence in Playwriting.
