Captain Smartypants

Vocal comedy group Captain Smartypants has performed all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond, thrilling, delighting and alarming audiences from Washington DC to San Francisco. Led by Eric Lane Barnes, Captain Smartypants has performed with Ann Wilson, Jennifer Holliday, Kelli O’Hara, Kristin Chenoweth, Melissa Manchester, and American Idol finalist Blake Lewis since the group’s inception in 2000. They were also the Seattle warm-up act for Margaret Cho when she filmed “The Notorious C.H.O.” in 2002. Their performance of ‘Kislev Cowboys’ (aka ‘Brokeback Dreidel’) has received over 500,000 hits on YouTube and was featured on NPR’s ‘Hearing Voices’ in November 2008. Their 10th anniversary show Captain Smartypants: the First 100 Years broke all previous Smartypants box office records in its run at Seattle’s Town Hall in May 2010.
