The Conducted Moment: Lessons for the Community of Music from Mime and Theatre

Location
Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, 3680 Walnut Street
Session Type
Special Event/Performance
Session Subtype
Breakout Session

This session explores the physical act of communication for conductors and musicians. Attendees will actively engage in the concepts of projection and presence, resistance in gesture, and engagement of the torso. Focusing on interplay between physical and musical response, the session will explore the difficult reality between what we think we are saying and how we are perceived by others as we strive to complete the great circle of communication that ebbs and flows between performers and audiences.
