Location

How can choral music serve as a catalyst for unifying some of the great division in our world? How can singing in intentionally diverse communities facilitate and mobilize bridge-building as way to promote equality, opportunity, and inclusion for everyone? What do we need to learn as choral leaders to promote mutual understanding of ourselves and our respective singers, despite different musical, cultural, social and socio-economic backgrounds?

Please join Mimi Bornstein and Charles C. Brown as they share their stories and experiences creating multi-racial, interfaith, non-auditioned community choruses. Together they will discuss the benefits and challenges inherent in building intentionally diverse singing communities, including the personal work involved for them individually and as co-directors. Mimi and Charles have an incredible passion for creating connection and community through music. Come hear their uplifting story and learn some practical tips for building your own intentionally diverse singing communities!
