Alex Nelson

Alex Nelson is an arts administrator and producer and the vice president of artistic production and operations of the 220-voice GRAMMY Award-winning Pacific Chorale in Orange County, California. He is an active collaborator in the ensemble’s artistic and organizational life, overseeing concert production, ensemble and artist needs, and $1 million in annual mission-focused expenses, while supporting long-term planning alongside artistic director Robert Istad and CEO Rhett M. Del
Campo. Nelson is a recognized producer of ambitious choral projects, including the single-concert capture of Monteverdi’s complete Vespers of 1610 and a 12-day tour of Austria, Germany, and the United Kingdom. His work on the Chorale’s first fully virtual Tis the Season! production
in 2020 helped make it one of the organization’s most successful fundraisers in its history, demonstrating his ability to innovate under extraordinary circumstances. His most notable production credit includes the Chorale’s 2022 GRAMMY Award-winning recording of Mahler’s Eighth Symphony. Apart from his work with Pacific Chorale, he previously served as general manager of the Orange County Youth Symphony and holds degrees in Piano Performance and Arts Administration from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and O’Neill School of Public and
