Admissions and Operations Manager
Children’s Chorus of Washington (CCW) nourishes artistic excellence and empowers young singers by celebrating our shared humanity and the value of every voice. An independent non-profit, we are the go-to professional-caliber children’s chorus in Greater Washington. We maintain an active performance schedule and serve students in grades K-12 from DC, MD, and VA.
As a tuition-supported program, enrollment is a critical metric. In a typical season, about 40% of our revenue comes from tuition. Over the past five years, we have focused heavily on fostering a strong community, establishing transparency, and building trust with our families, with the goal of increasing retention and satisfaction. This role will continue to support these efforts, and build relationships in new communities as we seek to expand our reach and deepen our impact across the region.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
The ideal candidate will have some musical training and performance experience, preferably in singing; a desire to work with youth and their families; excellent communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to details; interest in relationship building and curiosity about people; commitment to supporting initiatives that increase diversity, equity, access, and inclusion; comfort and proficiency with technology such as databases and spreadsheets; passion for data; experience with basic bookkeeping practices.
YOUR IMPACT AT CCW:
The Admissions Manager will support the Chorus’s recruitment, enrollment, on-boarding, and retention efforts, including for scholarship and outreach students. For many families, this employee will be the face of CCW via email, phone calls, and attendance at key Chorus events, including auditions. In consultation with music staff, the employee will play an important role in communicating information about a child’s acceptance, placement, and promotion status, expectations, policies, procedures, and organizational values. Working closely with the artistic and executive directors, this employee will help plan and lead recruitment and retention campaigns, and audition and enrollment processes.
As Operations Manager, this role will also support bookkeeping, banking, reporting, and other operational tasks and administrative functions, including communicating about families’ financial obligations, and following up about tuition payments.
CCW’s administrative team is small, but mighty. Every person is important, and every role is essential.
