About Richmond Allied Voices
Richmond Allied Voices leads three community choruses in RVA working together to create an inspired, hopeful and unified Richmond through song.
Founded in 2001, Richmond Allied Voices is the umbrella organization that operates the Richmond Men’s Chorus (RMC), the Richmond Women’s Chorus (RWC) and the Noteables. RAV reflects a commitment to excellence by: ensuring that performances are of the highest quality; establishing a reputation as an outstanding organization and valued community asset; and enabling each individual to recognize her unique and valuable contributions not just to the chorus, but also to the arts and the greater Richmond community.
RMC, RWC and the Noteables are unique cultural assets to Richmond's metropolitan community. RMC and RWC are the only same sex, non-university choruses in central Virginia for male and female voice, respectively, that offer this variety of music for members and audiences each season. The Noteables, a twelve-member, mixed-voice ensemble, broadens the scope of performance opportunities for Richmond Allied Voices and delivers a clearer message of its support for the LGBTQ community.
