Whether taking up a new activity or continuing a lifelong practice, older adults who sing are reaping a host of social and health benefits – and a growing number of choruses are developing programs that work with this population. What can we learn from emerging research on creative aging that can help shape these efforts? Tim Carpenter, founder of EngAGE, an organization that provides life-enhancing arts, wellness, and lifelong learning programs and events to thousands of seniors living in Southern California, shares best practices for engaging older adults in the arts.
