Fields of Wonder
The relationships between composers and poets have been at the center of music-making for hundreds of years. In Fields of Wonder, Cantus explores the interplay between authors and musicians, centered on a newly rediscovered setting of a cycle of Langston Hughes’ poetry by American composer Margaret Bonds.
In a series that showcases individual voices, Cantus examines interactions between artists – specifically, how composers influence, and are influenced by, the words they set to music.
