Job title: Executive Director Chorus/organization name: Conspirare Category: Administrative Duties and responsibilities: Conspirare’s Executive Director, in partnership with its founding Artistic Director Craig Hella Johnson, will lead the organization in the pursuit of its mission through: • leadership in development strategies and activities; • leadership and supervision of the organization’s staff in its business operations; • leadership and supervision of the production of each concert season; • leadership of Conspirare’s short- and long-term growth strategies, including recording distribution arrangements, artist management representation, national and international touring, establishment of a full-time core resident ensemble, expanding the scope of concert productions, and building a permanent Conspirare performance space; and • outreach to Conspirare’s audiences, donors, and other constituencies. Requirements: Conspirare’s Executive Director must demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and collaborative skills. The Executive Director must be able to develop and execute with Conspirare’s Artistic Director and Board of Directors a shared vision of the future and a shared plan to realize it. Management experience is required, and management experience in a non-profit setting is preferred. Management experience in the performing arts, especially choral organization(s), is highly desirable. The Executive Director position is a permanent full-time position in Conspirare’s offices in Austin, Texas. Compensation: Negotiable, commensurate with skills and experience. Chorus/organization description: Conspirare is one of the nation’s premier choral organizations, under the leadership of its founding Artistic Director Craig Hella Johnson. Conspirare presents an annual season of concerts in Austin, other Texas communities, and elsewhere in the U.S. It records for the Harmonia Mundi label. Conspirare's “Company of Voices” consists of a professional chamber choir, drawn from over eighty professional singers from around the country; a symphonic choir consisting of both professional and volunteer singers from the Central Texas area; and two youth choirs. Conspirare is a tax-exempt Texas non-profit corporation, with a full-time staff of four including the Executive Director and a part-time staff of six.
