NEW CHORAL WORK BY ERIC WHITACRE (SSAATTBB)
 

Here’s your chance to be a part of a commission from renowned composer, Eric Whitacre!

One of our generation’s brightest stars, Eric Whitacre will compose a 3-5 minute work, voiced SSAATTBB, on a text of his choosing and has agreed to donate the piece to Chorus America’s 2009 Auction. Regularly performed in the most illustrious venues, Whitacre’s works have become favorites of conductors, choruses and audiences worldwide.


Commissioning Participation Fee: $1,500

Your fee will be combined with a consortium bid. Participating bidders contribute toward the purchase and then share the commission (and printed dedication) equally. All proceeds will go to benefit Chorus America’s work on behalf of choruses in North America. Estimated delivery period is early 2010.

Anton Armstrong, professor of music at St. Olaf College and conductor of the renowned St. Olaf Choir, will work with your choir in a one-day clinic. Can include a public performance at the end of the workshop if desired. Purchaser agrees to pay travel and any necessary lodging.

A meticulously reproduced and lavishly published facsimile of the autograph score of Bach’s Mass in B minor, BWV 232. This beautiful Bärenreiter Facsmile documents and records the present condition of the complete autograph score, with a special introduction by renowned Bach scholar Christoph Wolff.
