CHORUS AMERICA 31st ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Dear Chorus Leaders,

This year, Chorus America’s 31st Annual Conference is being held in conjunction with the National Performing Arts Convention (NPAC) in Denver, Colorado, June 10-14, 2008. Top performing arts leaders from opera, dance, theater, orchestras, and more will join with chorus leaders for five fabulous days of collaboration, communication, concerts, and celebration.

I have had the privilege of serving as co-chairman of the 2008 Convention, along with my colleague Marc Scorca from OPERA America, and we have collaborated closely with all of our arts colleagues to ensure a program of the highest caliber for every participant.

At the same time, Chorus America will offer our signature rich array of chorus-specific programming with content aimed at artistic directors, administrative and board leaders, choral singers, and business leaders—all this in a welcoming, supportive environment where networking is as easy as meeting the person next to you. So plan to bring a team from your chorus—we’ll have something for everyone!

I invite you to browse the pages of our Conference website to see what is in store for chorus participants and to browse the NPAC site to read about the gold mine of activities awaiting all registrants, including world-renowned keynote speakers, practical breakout sessions, a vision for ArtsTown 2028, and 21st Century Town Meetings.

Registration is available solely through the NPAC website, where you should be sure to choose the Chorus America Convention Package. This will enable you to attend the special chorus programming throughout the week, in addition to all NPAC sessions.

A special thanks to the Colorado Symphony Chorus and the Colorado Children’s Chorale for co-hosting Chorus America’s 31st Annual Conference. You will have the chance to hear them both in concert, as well as St. Martin’s Chamber Choir and Kantorei, among the incredible array of other live performances throughout the week.

I look forward to seeing you in Denver and “Taking Action Together” to move the chorus and performing arts agenda forward!
